This most recent job we did was for a church near us that had an 8 x 20 ft metal/wood outdoor building they needed removed. Homeless people had been breaking into it and living there repeatedly, taking stolen goods there, and doing drugs and other sorts of activities there as well. I'm not sure if that was the main motivation to get rid of it or if they had other plans for the lot that it was on. Our customer's church friends had actually tried to remove the metal shed using a flat bed truck because it was in pretty decent condition, but it proved more difficult than they anticipated and the shed got damaged in the process of moving it, so they called out Snap Junk Removal instead.
It took us about 4 hours to demo the building and haul it off. We may have been able to do it quicker but we hit a snag with the metal siding and roof. The metal screws that held on the panels all had plastic tips. When we went to unscrew them all the plastic heads would strip due to weathering and the nature of plastic in general, so we ended up having to take the metal panel siding off with brute force. After we got the sides off we removed some of the framing and collapsed the roof over. We then flipped the metal roof upside down and knocked out the wood framing so everything would me movable and condensed into our trailer. We barely fit the demolished building in our 16 ft/15 cubic yard dumpster, but some how we managed.
We charged our customer $750, or roughly $5 per a square foot for the service. It helped that we could basically back our trailer right up to it for easy loading of the waste.
